Seminars and Workshops
SCAJ holds seminars to promote greater understanding of Specialty Coffee through tastings and presentations by coffee-producing countries and provide instruction in evaluation by means of cupping based on engagement with Specialty Coffee and cupping form, as well as barista workshops and short courses to improve extraction techniques. SCAJ members enjoy special pricing. |

Coffee Meister Training Courses
Since 1999 SCAJ has offered the Coffee Meister Training Course, an educational program for professional coffee marketer members and the first of its kind in Japan, and awarded official SCAJ certification to graduates passing a test. |

Japan Barista Championship
SCAJ holds the annual Japan Barista Championship, a competition for baristas, with the goals of enhancing barista training and motivation. This event features an espresso competition, which selects Japanese entrants in the World Barista Championship, and a siphon competition that is unique to Japan. |

International Presence
Among Specialty Coffee conferences and trade fairs overseas, SCAJ attends the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) convention, the largest in the world, and the World Barista Championship (WBC) to maintain acquaintance with the latest information internationally. |

SCAJ issues a quarterly newsletter to members providing the latest information on Specialty Coffee. Our website keeps the broader public informed of SCAJ activities.
